New intelligent circuit breaker solution launched for utility companies.
Utility companies across the world look set to benefit from a new high specification relay launched by Hawker Siddeley Switchgear Ltd , a leading specialist in circuit breaker technology.
The new VISIONr provides a protection and control system for overhead line and substation circuit breakers alike.
When combined with the company’s highly acclaimed GVR auto-recloser, it offers a trouble free, cost effective solution for any power network.
Explained Steve Dymond, Sales and Marketing Director at Hawker Siddeley Switchgear Ltd : “Suitable for all pole and substation mounted automatic recloser applications, VISIONr has been developed alongside our award-winning GVR system to provide an ‘all in one’ solution for the protection and control of overhead line circuit breakers.
“Because the system does not require any additional components such as auxiliary relays, it is extremely reliable and simple to operate, as well as being cost effective.”
Opto-isolated inputs / outputs enable the system to integrate with different types of plant – making VISIONr particularly versatile and suitable for all types of power networks including SEF protection on Petersen Coil or unearthed systems.
A multi-triggerable disturbance recorder is also integrated into the system, allowing an operator to interrogate any network disturbances from their desk.
In addition, VISION Control Software allows the user an option of real time metering, the uploading and downloading of settings, a trip history and a configurable Sequential Event Recorder (SER).
Built-in, multiple industry standard communications protocols add to the versatility of the VISIONr.
