Hawker Siddeley Switchgear Ltd on track with second phase of prestigious rail project
Hawker Siddeley Switchgear Ltd has secured a further contract to supply electrical switchgear equipment for use in one of the largest ever Middle Eastern transport projects.
A world leader in circuit breaker technology, Hawker Siddeley Switchgear Ltd is already supplying more than 220 of its Lightning NDC DC circuit breakers and over 400 disconnect switches to the Dubai Light Rail Transit (LRT) system.
Now the company will supply similar equipment – 126 Lightning Lightning NDC DC circuit breakers and 240 disconnect switches – for the second phase of the project that is currently under construction in the United Arab Emirates.
Barry Wilson, Global DC Sales manager at Hawker Siddeley Switchgear Ltd explained that the panels and switches incorporated the company’s latest ‘fit and forget’ technology.
“They require minimal maintenance and offer optimal safety, reliability and high speed performance for a variety of demanding applications,” he said.
Added Mr Wilson: “We are delighted we are able to remain involved with such a prestigious project. This latest order reflects the quality of our switchgear products and our ongoing relationship with Dubai.”
